Our president, Richard R. Silbar, was for many years a theoretical physicist on the staff of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He founded WhistleSoft in 1993 but still maintains ties with LANL as a contractor and consultant.

The WhistleSoft team consists of six people with backgrounds in computer science and nuclear chemistry, as well as physics. By virtue of our location, we have ready access to some of the country's top scientists and engineers, many of whom can work for us on a part-time consulting basis. Through the New Mexico Film Institute, located in nearby Santa Fe, we can also draw upon the talents of creative design and production experts.

WhistleSoft does most of its multimedia authoring using Macromedia products, such as Authorware, Director, FreeHand, and Extreme 3D. We also make extensive use of Adobe's Photoshop and Premiere software.

What is unique about WhistleSoft's capabilities is the combination of our scientific and engineering expertise with knowledge about how to present highly technical and mathematical material using effective multimedia techniques.
